Kelvin Reynolds has joined Epson's ranks as the company's new general manager for southern Africa; with plans to boost Epson's headcount by 30%.
Reynolds says Epson will increase its efforts to connect with customers and re-engage with its reseller and distributor channels.
“Epson started this re-invigoration process in the latter parts of 2009,” says Reynolds, “by introducing an increased focus on offering overall solutions in the business and large format printing market sectors.”
Channelling success
Reynolds adds that Epson's consultants and product specialists have been on intensive training courses designed to help them understand the specific needs of customers in various vertical sectors. This, he says, will allow them to deliver tailored solutions, through the company's channel partners, that meet the specific requirements of these verticals.
According to Reynolds, Epson will soon expand into other sub-Saharan African markets. He points out that printing solutions represent a considerable part of the overall capital and operational costs of an organisation, and is second to physical IT equipment.
Epson is targeting healthcare, education, and public sectors as the company's priorities this year, as well as driving its channel partner programme.
Reynolds points out: “We recognise the importance of our value-added specialist resellers and we're going to be recruiting a number of new partners this year.”
