Epson provides projectors for mobile and home users

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2001

Epson SA has released two new projector options, the EMP-50 and EMP-70, both of which are aimed at the SoHo and consumer markets.

Lisa Goosen, chain manager at Epson SA, explains that both new models are lightweight, high bright compact projectors targeted at the mobile presenter or salesperson, as well as the home entertainment enthusiast, and provide maximum portability without sacrificing advanced features and brightness.

"The EMP-50 features a brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens, achieved by using a newly developed 150W short arc Ultra High Efficiency (UHE) lamp to enable brilliant projection even in a brightly lit room," adds Goosen.

Built for several functions, the EMP-50 features `Digital Active Resizing` which allows the projector to support signals from VGA to SXGA, and is also compatible with DVD and HDTV.

"Similarly, the EMP-70 offers a true XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, but is also capable of supporting VGA, SVGA and SXGA," says Goosen.

Further features included electronic keystone correction, to ensure users can achieve a square image on the screen, digital Image Scaling, known as "Telewide", which electronically adjusts the screen size, as well as electronic zoom, to allow the images on the screen to be enlarged.

Added to this is a 1W built-in speaker, remote control with pre-programmed special effects, Help function and easy to follow on screen Menu and connectivity for both PC and video, making the EMP-50 and EMP-70 fully functional and versatile projectors.
