Epson still improving dot matrix range

Johannesburg, 14 Mar 2001

Epson SA has unveiled it latest dot matrix printers, the LQ-680 and LQ-680 pro, two 24-pin flat bed wide carriage impact printers. In addition to providing advanced printing technologies for the inkjet and laser markets, Epson continues to develop its dot matrix range for those who require a printer that is durable, efficient and will print on multi-part stationery. The new 24 pin printers have improved print head life and total print volume has been extended to suit even the most demanding office environments.

In addition to the standard product features, the LQ-680 Pro automatically adjusts the size of the paper feeder in relation to the thickness of the paper, eliminating the need for manual intervention, and making paper handling easier. An Auto Paper changer controlled straight from a PC also allows easy automatic switching between paper types without touching the printer.

In both models there is three way paper handling from the front, rear or top together with crisp clear output achievable on multi-part forms up to six layers thick. Improved front-in, front out paper handling ensures that front-loaded cut-sheet paper and single sheet, multi part forms emerge right side up for instant legibility.
