Continued success for global market leader.

Johannesburg, 17 Mar 2011

Continuing its success within the visual imaging sector, Epson, the leading global manufacturer of projection technology, has reached a milestone market share of 22.71% during the final quarter of the calendar year 2010, according to Futuresource Consulting.

In addition to growing its overall market leading position, the Futuresource figures also show that Epson became the world leader for 4 000 - 4 999 lumen projectors, with a market share of 15.40%, overtaking previous forerunner, Sanyo.

Furthermore, the figures show Epson to be number one for ultra short throw projectors in EMEA, with an impressive market share of 67.12%.

Epson has been the world's number one projector manufacturer since 2001, and its broad product range covering installation, portable, ultra-short-throw, interactive, business and home cinema products, makes it unique within the market. At the heart of all of Epson's projectors is its core 3LCD technology, which makes Epson projectors the most colour-perfect available.

Kelvin Reynolds, general manager, Epson Southern Africa, comments: “This new data from Futuresource is very exciting for us and we're delighted to see that our projectors continue to gain recognition and sales share within the market.

“By responding to market trends and continuously investing in the development of groundbreaking products and technologies, our aim is to continue strengthening our position as the market leader year on year.”
