Equinox International, the leading provider of infrastructure technology solutions and services across the Middle East and North Africa region, announced today the opening of its new African headquarters facility in Lagos, Nigeria, in support of the company's aggressive growth strategy.
Equinox's Egypt office will continue to serve as the company's headquarters for the entire Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
This expansion effort includes major investments in engineering, sales, marketing and operations to better serve the potential growth opportunities created by Equinox International, the mother company of Equinox Nigeria, and the latest technological advancements in the ICT industry.
"We are extremely pleased that our expansion plans for Africa are on track in 2013, and that we are launching our new regional operations out of Lagos," commented Osama Qadan, Managing Director of Equinox International. "Nigeria has an addressable market of over 160 million people, a robust economy, extensive oil and gas reserves, and a large telecommunications sector. These realities have created attractive revenue opportunities in strategic sectors such as telecommunications, industrial, energy and financial services. Nigeria is also benefiting from its fast-growing financial sector, skilled workforce, and favourable business and investment climates."
Equinox was established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2005. Since its establishment, Equinox has built a significant customer base in both network infrastructure solutions and advanced services. In 2010, Equinox moved its Middle Eastern headquarters to Cairo after significant operations growth in Egypt. Today, Equinox plans to significantly grow its African engineering, client relationship and business development teams, as well as service operations for infrastructure solutions design and deployment throughout the African continent.
Equinox International has accredited partner status with a number of top technology vendors, including Cisco, EMC, IBM, NetScout, Oracle, VMware and Apcon. Equinox is also the leading provider of IP NGN and mobile packet core technology solutions in Africa, with several deployments throughout the continent.
The new regional headquarters in Lagos will host the company's operations not only for Nigeria, but also for the entire West African region. All sales, marketing, human resources, finance and Equinox's Consulting Services will be managed and delivered with local talent, which is a hallmark of the company's operational strategy.
"Although this expansion represents a huge, diverse and strategic challenge for our teams, we are fortunate to have the best employees in the industry, who have the ability to repeat the successes we managed to achieve over the past seven years of business in Egypt and the Arabian Gulf region," added Qadan. "We believe the time is right for presenting Equinox's sophisticated expertise and innovative solutions, developed through years of experience with a broad array of top-rank technology vendors to an array of large client targets in Africa."
