Local Aladdin Knowledge Systems affiliate, eSafe Technologies SA and RSA SA has embarked on an enhanced working relationship which will see these companies share technological expertise as well as venture into joint marketing campaigns.

This announcement follows the of an international agreement between Aladdin Knowledge Systems and RSA Security. According to Brett Myroff, CEO of eSafe Technologies SA, this will result in the use of the RSA Keon certificate management system with eToken, Aladdin`s USB-based user authentication device that enables customers to securely store private keys and digital certificates to conduct e-business transactions.

"RSA Security`s PKI software secures and manages the use of digital certificates. Using the portable, house-key size eToken, customers have a mobile method of protecting e-business applications," explains Myroff. The Keon digital certificates are stored directly on the eToken, allowing users to download certificates using Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer and carry it with them wherever they travel. Myroff stresses that the strategic alliance provides users with enhanced portability and security for their private keys.

Says Peter Burgess, Territory Manager for RSA Security SA: "Partnerships are an integral component of RSA`s business, and we welcome this new agreement, particularly as we see major growth in the PKI arena in 2001. The Aladdin eToken offering enhances the RSA Keon PKI Management solution and we look forward to working closely with eSafe Technologies in South Africa."

By working together Aladdin and RSA Security can offer customers the ability to securely store their digital credentials on a mobile device and access them to conduct e-business transactions wherever they are. "Aladdin`s partnership with RSA Security is a welcomed addition to the eToken Technology Partnership Program," says Myroff. "We believe that the integration with RSA-Keon opens an opportunity for us to utilise extensive RSA channels to resell eToken devices."
