Keeping within its goal to promote and highlight key issues impact business and thought leaders, SAS Institute will once again host the Mail and Guardian business breakfast, and will play host to Eskom CEO Jacob Maroga.
Maroga will share with the business audience, what he sees as some of the real challenges impacting Eskom, and where the power utility now finds itself after the ongoing challenges posed on it due to the energy crisis which sparked the need for load-shedding, and energy price hikes.
"At SAS, we believe it is important to remain abreast of all the issues which make an impact on the business environment in which we operate. Whether these be business related, economic, or socio-economic," says Riad Gydien, Country Manager of SAS Institute South Africa.
"It is with this that we view these breakfasts as an excellent opportunity to extend to our customers, whose very interest in our analytical software, means they have a keen interest in the external factors that could impact their business."
Entitled "Should Heads Roll: What Ever Happened to Accountability?", the breakfast will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency in Rosebank (formerly the Park Hyatt), on the morning of 29 May. Guests will be treated to a 40-minute presentation by Maroga, as he discusses the power crisis which near crippled the country, which will then be followed by an open question and answers session.
"These sessions are always over-subscribed and provide an excellent learning and networking platform for guests. We are very proud to be aligned to such a quality event, which continues to attract some of the country's top leaders to the podium," ends Kerry Evans, General Manager Commercial Business at SAS Institute South Africa.
Past breakfasts have played host to the likes of Tito Mboweni, Maria Ramos and many others.
