Europe*Star sponsored the satellite connectivity for the second star-studded 46664 concert held in George on Saturday, 19 March, in aid of former president Nelson Mandela`s HIV/AIDS campaign.
The SABC used Europe*Star 1 for local distribution of the three-hour televised concert. A second feed on the same satellite was simultaneously sent to Europe for a Webcast that was accessible live and for 90 days after the event. GlobeCast Africa sponsored the uplink and downlink costs.
Roy Ingle, Europe*Star`s regional director for Africa, said: "It was an honour to be able to join the organisations contributing to such a worthwhile cause for the second successive year."
