Evolution enriches Prosperity`s financial processes

Prosperity Health, the multinational medical aid administrator headquartered in SA, has improved the productivity of its business and financial processes by migrating its accounting platform to Pastel Evolution. Prosperity`s accounting user base has grown to 15 people.

Ilizma Muller, Financial Director of Prosperity, says the functionality provided in Pastel Evolution has provided the organisation with faster access to financial data.

"Pastel Evolution makes everything easy: a simple click of the mouse and we can instantly call up statements and reports on screen," Muller says.

Users in the accounting department were unable to easily access the information they needed from the previous accounting system.

"We can now also drill down to whatever level of information we need - as long as the user has the appropriate authorisation. Following an audit trail, for example, is a point and click process."

Prosperity`s office in Kenya has also been linked to the software to allow for real-time access and updates. Previously, the manual process of integrating data from various branches took a long time to complete.

"The ease-of-use, combined with the power of Pastel Evolution, has made the system an integral part of our daily financial business processes that we cannot do without. While Pastel Evolution is also a respected traditional accounting software application, with all the functionality business requires, it offers so much more than merely a place to store financial data," says Muller.

"The success of Pastel Evolution has been self-evident," says Steven Cohen, MD of Softline Pastel. "About 1 200 customers have already upgraded from Pastel Accounting and other financial packages within the Softline group. Additionally, due to the functionality this application offers, we have seen an increase in new customers."
