ExACT opts for MediSwitch functionality

USKO`s medical e-commerce division, MediSwitch, has announced that EDI functionality has been incorporated in the ExACT Dental Software package. This functionality is part of MediSwitch`s Virtual Private Healthcare Network (VPHN).

Malan Smit Cape regional manager for MediSwitch, is optimistic about the agreement to MediSwitch-enable the ExACT dental software packages. "The deal consolidates our credibility because ExACT is the only software package endorsed by ORALnet, an Independent Practitioners Association for dentists in South Africa, boasting approximately 1 300 members, so we can be sure that we are offering Dental Practitioners the best possible practice management service available," says Malan Smit.

ExACT Dental Software is currently in use at single dental practices, clinics and hospitals, and provides administrative and financial practice management solutions to dentists.

"Since 1995, ExACT has conducted research into dental economics, dental informatics and dentist practice management solutions," says Dr. Louis Roussouw, CEO of ExACT Dental Software.

"Together with MediSwitch, ExACT will be fulfilling a need for sound electronic information management solutions for dentists."

MediSwitch offers a real-time electronic data switch, which allows medical service providers to check member eligibility and submit claims to Medical Funders electronically. According to Dr. Roussow, ExACT Dental Software users will now enjoy the full benefits that MediSwitch has to offer. "The real-time eligibility checking will prove useful for the large number of Medical Schemes which cover in the region of 760 000 principle members. MediSwitch will allow our dentists to improve claims payment cycles by submitting directly to the medical schemes," says Dr. Roussouw.
