Exinda embarks on African growth initiative

Exinda, a global provider of WAN optimisation and application performance management solutions, is extending its reach within the sub-Saharan market, with the appointment of three reseller partners covering east Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, and a pan-African value-added distributor.

The recently opened South African office will be used as a base to drive Exinda's brand into Africa, as well as to provide product support.

Sub-Saharan Africa sales director for Exinda, Alan Rehbock, says that not only are there excellent business opportunities across the region, but also tremendous interest in next-generation WAN optimisation products. “Costly and unreliable bandwidth is a common problem in Africa, and companies are looking for ways to control their communications expenses while gaining the full benefit of 21st century WAN optimisation technologies.”

Exinda's new reseller partners covering the East African region, and based in Nairobi, Kenya, are ICT specialist Adwest Communications and telecommunications expert IntraCom. Adwest Communications also has offices in Uganda and Tanzania.

Both companies made the grade because of their market understanding, technical knowledge and proven WAN optimisation skills. Rehbock says specialised training on Exinda's product set will commence this month to ensure the companies are able to deliver optimal solutions to bandwidth-starved customers.

Exinda's reseller for the Indian Ocean Islands region is User-Tech Solutions. The company is based in Vacoas, Mauritius and is well known in the region for its expertise in delivering efficient network communication solutions.

Pan-African value-added distribution (VAD) will be managed by ADS-sas. The company, headquartered in Orly, Paris, with offices in Nairobi, has a long history of distribution throughout Africa and has now switched to Exinda's WAN Optimisation products from the competitive solutions it had been distributing.

“ADS-sas operates across the African continent and has feet on the ground in English, French and Arabic countries, making the language barrier irrelevant,” says Rehbock.
