Inc. magazine has named Exinda, a global provider of next-generation WAN optimisation and application assurance solutions, to its sixth annual Inc. 500|5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Exinda ranked in the top quartile of all software companies, and was the only WAN optimisation vendor named to the list.

Exinda recently established an office in South Africa, which has also experienced phenomenal growth since opening. "In a short space of time, we have secured two government departments as clients, implemented our equipment at Illovo Sugar Group and financial services company Hyphen Technology, and appointed Bytes Systems Integration and Gijima as national resellers. We have also commenced with our expansion into sub-Saharan Africa," said Brandon Rochat, territory sales manager for South and sub-Saharan Africa.

In the US, Exinda joins Yelp, yoghurt maker Chobani, Giftcards.com, KIND and famed hat maker Tilly's among other prominent brands featured on this year's list. Many of the most successful companies in the US received their first national recognition when they were named to the Inc. list. Companies such as Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zappos.com, Under Armour, Microsoft, Clif Bar, Pandora, Patagonia and Oracle have appeared on the list in previous years.

Exinda enables organisations to assure the user experience for strategic business applications through policy-based WAN optimisation that intelligently applies acceleration and containment based on the priorities of the business. Traditional WAN optimisation services - protocol optimisation and compression - have become table-stakes capabilities for network operators. Exinda's WAN optimisation 2.0 solutions provide actionable performance insights, policy-based application optimisation, SLA dashboards and recreational application containment in addition to basic optimisation and compression. Exinda is the first vendor to bring to market a solution that delivers application assurance as part of its core WAN optimisation offering, allowing organisations to focus on business, not bits.

"Exinda is honoured to be named to the Inc. 500|5000 list and be included alongside such esteemed, high-growth businesses," said Exinda CEO Michael Sharma. "For the past two years, Exinda has grown faster than any other WAN optimisation vendor, and our unique approach to solving customers' network challenges has contributed to that success and is indicative of a change in customer priorities. Exinda is leading a fundamental shift in WAN optimisation, with application assurance and user experience replacing traffic compression and acceleration at centre stage."

The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by 31 March 2008. They had to be US-based, privately held, for profit, and independent - not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies - as of 31 December 2011. In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97%. The companies on this year's list report having created over 400 000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honourees reached $299 billion.
