Experian SA`s annual conference to be held at Royal Swazi Sun in September

Johannesburg, 25 Jul 2005

Experian South Africa will host its 13th annual conference at the Royal Swazi Sun from 14 to 17 September.

This year`s conference, entitled "Credit Boom or Bust: Sustainable growth in today`s economy", will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing the South African credit grantor today. It will examine solutions to maintain sustainable credit growth and prevent short-term over-heating.

In the last decade the South African economy has undergone substantial changes that have positively affected the financial position of consumers - lower and stable interest rates and a low inflation rate have contributed to a growing economy. This, coupled by an increase in average household disposable income, has meant consumer spending is at record levels.

The sessions will draw from the expertise and experience of Experian client case studies, industry experts and the Experian global team. Topics include fraud prevention, income modelling, intelligent prospecting, business lending and the proposed National Credit Bill.

Dr Azar Jammine, Chief Economist at Econometrix, will return to discuss the improvement in the financial position of South African consumers as a booster to the South African economy. To give delegates the opportunity to take a break from formalities, the event will also include a presentation by Nick Mallet, former SA Rugby coach who will provide some insight into the state of South African rugby.
