In response to the spiralling demand for information technology that enables companies to reduce operational costs and mitigate security risks, Splunk and its premier South African-based partner, Exponant, are hosting a convention in October 2011 to afford entities the opportunity to evaluate what is available to them.
Head of Exponant's information security division, executive manager, Wolfgang Selzer, says evidence of this demand has been reflected in the extraordinary growth the division has experienced.
“Exponant Security Solutions has experienced sustained and significant growth over the last three years,” Selzer explains.
“More than ever, it is now critical for organisations to leverage from ICT and its benefits in order to remain competitive. This can be coupled to the fact that in poor market conditions, there is more criminal activity and cyber crime.
“We don't expect this growth to dwindle any time soon. The increasing number of mobile and other devices means increasing access and vulnerability into networks, requiring organisations to pay very close attention to how they search, analyse, report on and correlate information buried within their organisation.
“Add to this parallel growth in security risks, and companies cannot afford not to be concerned about how they stay ahead to prevent experiencing service degradation or outages.”
SplunkLive! will feature a line-up of local and international experts. The Johannesburg session is on 12 October, and the Cape Town session is on 14 October.
Booking is essential and interested parties can register at: http://live.splunk.com/forms/SplunkLiveSouthAfricaOct2011.
