Exsol, a leading supplier of document management and imaging systems, and a division of JSE-listed EC-Hold, announces the launch of E-Claims this month. E-Claims enables companies to expedite claims and empower its customers and brokers by giving them secure, direct access to claim information. The system replaces current paper-based business processes.
Jointly designed and implemented by Tower Technology and Staffware, E-Claims incorporates document imaging, workflow and advanced Internet technologies. Policyholders are able to initiate a claim by filling out an on-line claims form with their Web browser. It is then automatically routed to their broker and on the company via the Internet where all parties are able to view any relevant documentation related to the claim, including photos, forms and transcripts.
E-Claims is based on a system developed for Ace Europe, part of the ACE Group of companies (one of the world`s largest property and casualty insurance businesses) who several months ago chose Tower/Staffware for an advanced, web-based claims management system
ACE Europe carried out a stringent evaluation process involving many of the companies at the forefront of the European document management industry. According to ACE Europe, the Tower/Staffware application is expected to deliver "significant productivity improvements as well as reducing cost/expense ratios" and is a "fundamental step to becoming e-commerce ready".
Access to policy documents is provided through the Tower IDM Document Portal, which enables document delivery via the Web by instantly delivering exact document replicas without plug-ins or applets. The zero-footprint design of this solution enables companies to offer its customers a secure, single point of access to their information - in effect offering customers `self-service.`
For example, brokers/customers will be able to access policy documents, provide online proposal submission and track the status of their own particular case through the Internet rather than calling the customer service call center.
Allan Stewart, Sales Director for Exsol says, "The `E-Claims` application will harness the expertise of Staffware and Tower for companies to establish a virtual trading community, incorporating customers, suppliers and intermediaries, such as agents and brokers thereby enabling customer self service."
Damian Hyland, European managing director for Tower Technology said whilst on a visit to South Africa this week "E-Claims allows companies to rise to both the business-to-business and business to consumer challenge, by streamlining their relationship with customers and brokers". "It not only provides them with a competitive customer service advantage, it delivers significant productivity improvements and reduces cost/expense ratios."
