Exterro adopts EDRM framework

Exterro has joined the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project. It has adopted both the EDRM model framework and metrics in its primary workflow model in Exterro Fusion, an integrated workflow platform for discovery management in the legal industry, reports Marketwire.

The EDRM framework provides the legal industry with a blueprint, mapping the entire e-discovery process from initial identification of relevant content to the final presentation of evidence.

EDRM metrics provide guidelines for how to measure associated costs, time and volumes in each stage of the discovery process: workflow identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis and production.

TextSoap adds integration

TextSoap Deluxe 5.6 is embracing Automator workflows to enhance its own custom cleaners. The workflow support allows custom cleaners to be extended with AppleScript, Python, Perl, shell scripts, or virtually any other Automator action that processes text, reports prMac.

A new custom cleaner action, combined with two special Automator actions, makes it as easy as drag-and-drop.

"I see this as an opportunity to extend TextSoap's text processing in a completely new way," said Mark Munz, lead developer. "Since the first day I saw Automator, I have wanted to do more than just provide a few actions in a workflow."

Appian makes BPM more accessible

Appian this week released Appian Enterprise 5.6. The upgrade spreads process access and control through new Ajax-powered designer and rules interfaces, improved access to real-time metrics, and enhanced integration with Microsoft Office apps and RSS feeds, says Intelligent Enterprise.

Appian's new browser-based Ajax interfaces include an environment for creating and managing business rules complete with a centralised rule repository.

Using this interface, users can quickly modify the rule-based thresholds that trigger or sub-processes without changing the underlying business process.
