Facebook app enables live broadcasting

Vpype Live Broadcaster has released a Facebook application that allows bands to create and broadcast live shows, states Examiner.com.

Vpype allows bands to broadcast either live or recorded concerts, making them available for viewing on the band's Facebook fan page. The technology supports concerts up to three hours in length, competing against YouTube, which allows short video clips that are only a few minutes long.

Bands using Vpype Live Broadcaster may use an external camera and mic to film live musical performances, interviews, and messages to fans.

BT cuts connectivity bundle prices

BT has cut prices on the bundle of and services it offers when communications regulator Ofcom removed restrictions, says The Wall Street Journal.

BT says consumers will be able to get broadband of up to 20 megabits, anytime calls to UK land lines and 0870 and 0845 numbers. The subscription is £7.99 for the first three months, then £15.99 a month on an 18-month contract.

The special offer bundle effectively gives customers their UK calls free, as the price is the same as the usual cost for just the broadband. This comes as Ofcom found BT no longer has significant market power in the majority of landline markets in the UK.

CNN Mobile available on Flo TV

Turner Broadcasting System and Qualcomm's Flo TV expanded its partnership to offer CNN Mobile on Flo's portable and automotive TV services, reports MultiChannel.

"Live, breaking news is consistently a top performer on the Flo TV service, as people strive to stay connected to the world around them," says Jonathan Barzilay, Flo TV's senior vice-president of programming and advertising. "Adding CNN Mobile to additional devices with our service is a natural fit and keeps our subscribers connected to news and analysis anytime, anywhere."

When AT&T debuted its mobile TV service with Flo, the carrier had exclusive rights to CNN Mobile, meaning that even though Verizon offers a mobile TV service through Flo, they are unable to access the CNN channel.
