Far South Networks, a world leading designer and manufacturer of IP telephony platforms, and Polycom, the leader in unified collaboration solutions, as distributed by the Hardware Group in South Africa, announced today the successful completion of interoperability testing between their products.
Far South Networks' IP PBX and Gateway products provide the business user with cost-effective, full-featured, reliable and easy-to-use platforms for the converged voice and data market. Far South Networks' products integrate communications hardware with open standards-based telephony software applications.
Far South Networks first initiated Polycom interoperability testing in 2011, with a selected range of Polycom handsets.
Due to increased demand from Far South Networks' reseller partners for integrated management of Polycom's new VVX range of IP phones, Far South Networks committed to deepen its interoperability with and support for the range of Polycom voice products.
Having successfully completed interoperability testing with the VVX and SoundPoint range of Polycom IP phones, these devices are now straightforward to deploy and operate under full auto-provisioning management from within the Far South Networks Com.X IP PBX range of devices.
"This announcement highlights Far South Networks' commitment to provide our IP PBX customers with reliable, high-definition voice solutions, while supporting our resellers in delivering a premium range of VOIP phones to our clients" said Grant Broomhall, managing director of Far South Networks.
Gail Holt, managing director of Hardware Group, commented: "We are pleased that Far South Networks values Polycom and took the time and effort to complete the interoperability testing. Our resellers can now be completely assured that Polycom and Far South Networks are interoperable and that the rich features of the Far South Networks PBX can be integrated into the Polycom handsets. We are thrilled about this and look forward to strengthening the Polycom and Far South Networks alliance.
