JSE-listed systems integration group Faritec has been chosen as Oracle South Africa`s Partner of the Year for 1999. The award, presented at a black tie function in Johannesburg, was made in recognition of Faritec`s support of Oracle over the preceding financial year.
"Oracle South Africa has participated in a channel programme for some months now," says Kelvin Reynolds, channel divisional manager for Oracle SA. "Our national accounts team has taken a hard look at Oracle`s partner base, and under a concerted rationalising and development programme, our partner base has grown significantly."
The Oracle awards are the first to be awarded by the company in South Africa, and in addition to the award for best overall Partner, include awards for best Partner in SME space, and commitment awards for partners that have participated in the channel programme for more than a year.
Faritec MD Allan Timm says: "This award is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of all Faritec personnel, who have worked to make Faritec a success. This level of recognition, from the second largest software company in the world, is an achievement of which we are all extremely proud."
Reynolds comments that Faritec is well in the top three for the current financial year, and looks set to continue on its winning path.
"This level of commitment from Faritec is across the board, and not simply concentrated in one region or department. We view Faritec as one of our most valued partners."
