JSE-listed IT services and solutions company Faritec shone at the recent 2006 awards ceremony hosted by Symantec, winning no less than three awards in major categories.
Symantec recognised Faritec as its 2006 African Partner of the Year for the second consecutive year and also awarded Faritec the Innovation Partner of the Year Award. Sakkie Killian of Faritec won Individual Contributor of the Year: Security Channel, an award which was shared with Lewis Taljaard from GijimaAst.
Faritec won the African Partner of the Year Award for consistently setting new benchmarks across all areas of its partnership with Symantec, delivering beyond expectations year-on-year and its ability to meet the challenges of the industry.
"Faritec received these awards because they demonstrated the ability to deliver beyond the average," says Mark Smissen, channel manager at Symantec Africa. "We are pleased to recognise Faritec for their innovation and depth of expertise as a Symantec partner over the past year, and we look forward to their continued success in 2007."
The Innovation Partner Award was earned for taking leading-edge technologies and transforming them into leading-edge services which are delivered to customers according to specification, as well as the ability to consistently innovate and combine a repeatable business model with the varying needs of a diverse customer base.
Sakkie Killian won the Individual Contributor Award for demonstrating a firm understanding of the security business and engaging with Symantec on all levels. Killian has closed some of the largest security licence deals in South Africa, producing large revenues for both Faritec and Symantec.
Gordon Love, Faritec Group Solutions Executive, says: "We appreciate Symantec's recognition of Faritec's leadership position in the security and availability market space in both Africa and South Africa. Symantec has long been established as a global leader in information security and I am confident Faritec will continue to closely follow that successful strategy.
