There is an understanding that you can't have fast, high quality and inexpensive in most products. Choose any two, is the generally accepted formula. However, Printacom is challenging that adage with the introduction of the OKI MC561dn desktop colour multifunction product (MFP), which puts professional, full-colour document handling in the reach of every business or busy workgroup.
According to Brandon Zabielski, OKI Product Manager at Printacom, the new machine is designed to take up little desk space for the substantial value it adds. “Good technology today is defined by its ease of use. In an MFP like the new OKI MC561dn, that means not only quick installation of the machine and its software, but also a design that makes it easy to use.”
And when OKI says 'multifunction', it really means it. The device copies documents, produces full colour prints, scans to a variety of locations and even includes faxing for those businesses that still use this medium. The machine also has true dual functionality, which means you can fax and print at the same time, increasing office efficiency.
Fast, says Zabielski, means just 7.5 seconds for the first page to print and 30 pages per minute in mono; owing to OKI's single-pass technology, the network-ready MC561 delivers 26 pages per minute in colour. The 50-sheet Reversing Automatic Document Feeder also delivers quick scanning, copying and faxing of double-sided documents.
High-quality means the robust construction of the device. “It also means a print quality of up to 1 200x600 dpi, scanner quality of 1 200x1200 dpi and the incorporation of OKI's digital LED technology, which, for 20 years, has defined its products,” Zabielski adds.
Meanwhile, cost-effectiveness means high-capacity consumables, with the black toner cartridge good for 3 500 pages, and colour ones which will deliver 2 000 pages. The MC561dn is designed for low-power consumption, too, with an ECO mode that automatically adjusts energy consumption, saving costs and conserving resources, while its Deep Sleep mode saves you money by reducing energy consumption to less than 1.5W.
“Cost-effectiveness also comes courtesy of the ability for the MC561dn to handle a wide range of media types: it will print on anything from an A6 page through to 1 200mm banners, including card stock up to 220gsm,” adds Zabielski.
The MC561dn incorporates features such as an easy to use operator panel with a large user-adjustable graphical display, while flexibility is assured via a USB-port for printing from or scanning to a memory stick. “Scanning can be routed to e-mail, network PC or USB,” notes Zabielski.
He also draws attention to the software utilities provided with the device, designed to support the busy workgroup or small business. “These tools provide control of print usage and user access rights, streamline document handling and assist with file sharing or archiving.”
Tools include:
* Nuance PaperPort (converts hardcopy into digital content)
* Nuance OmniPage (converts documents into editable electronic files)
* Job Macro (allows the user to store and access regularly used job profiles)
* Secure Print (keeps documents confidential)
* Colour Access Policy Manager (controls and monitors user access rights)
So good is the machine, says Zabielski, that it has won independent recognition from testing lab BERTL, which gave it a '4-Star, Highly Recommended' award, describing the MC561dn as 'delivering a good ROI for customers'.
Like all OKI printing solutions supplied by Printacom, the machine is supplied with a three-year on-site warranty.
The OKI MC561dn has a recommended retail price of R9 999. For more information, contact Printacom on:
