Fast, sleek workspace assistants

Johannesburg, 28 Feb 2007

Whether working from home or from an office, an efficient working environment demands a degree of personalisation, and more importantly, organisation. The Brother QL-500 and QL-550 printers have taken labelling to a new level, whatever the application.

The QL-500 and QL-550 boast increased versatility; die-cut labels are printed in seven popular sizes and continuous length labels are printed in white, yellow or transparent using paper or vinyl material - all this at speeds of up to 50 labels per minute.

The variety of wide feature-sets give users the ability to print directly from PC; the QL-500 and QL-550 can print from a host of applications and can be used to create letters, large shipping labels (up to 6.1cm wide), folders, name badges, logos, bar codes (essential for keeping track of inventory) and CDs and DVDs.

All this is achieved in one simple step by using the software provided or alternatively printing directly from MS Word, Excel or Outlook, using the smart Add-in Utility feature.

P-touch editor software allows you to create custom layouts for bar codes, graphics, signage and name badges incorporating photos (high 300dpi resolution). Layouts incorporate true type fonts and special formatting (including frames and tables) and can print from Microsoft applications in a few seconds. In addition, there are over 100 auto formats (label templates) ready for immediate use.

The QL-500 and QL-550 have the same user-friendly features, however, the QL-550 has a built-in automatic cutter which means the user can take advantage of the high printing speed as labels are cut automatically, as they are printed. The use of Direct Thermal print technology eliminates toner, ink and ribbon costs and the printers house a built-in power supply eliminating the need for heavy adaptors.

The QL-500 and QL-550 are available at all Makro and Stax stores nationwide. For more information on the Brother P-Touch range, visit www.kemtek.co.za.
