Cellular operator MTN says it has not received confirmation that the four Cameroonian executives aboard the Kenya Airways flight, which crashed at the weekend, have died.
On Sunday, the group confirmed that four staff members from its MTN Cameroon operation had been on the flight. These included CEO Campbell Utton; CFO Sarah Stewart and her husband, Adam James Stewart; company secretary Patrick Njamfa; and network engineer Patrice Enam.
This morning, the group's external communications manager, Pearl Majola, said it would not make any moves until official confirmation had been received.
Majola's comments follow media reports this morning claiming all 114 passengers died in the crash. Reporting from Cameroon, South African Press Association journalist, Heidi Voigt, quoted local government official Luc Ndjodo as saying there were no survivors.
Lastest updates from Kenya Airways confirm that no survivors or casualties have been found; however, no confirmation is given that all passengers died.
"We are still waiting for official confirmation that we have lost our people," said Majola. "We will only make an announcement once we have this confirmation."
No decisions have been made on replacing the four executives at this time, added Majola.
