Ferreira appointed Unisys Africa MD

IT industry veteran Henry Ferreira has been appointed as MD and VP of Unisys Africa.

Ferreira replaces Barry Holt, who stepped down from the position two months ago.

South African-born Ferreira has been in the ICT sector for over two decades and has worked for multinationals such as HP, Compaq and Nokia. He is returning to SA after being based in London as Nokia Networks' VP for the Africa region.

Unisys Africa is a black economic empowered subsidiary of Unisys Corporation - a global IT services and solutions company.

"Most of my time in the ICT sector has been focused on the spaces Unisys occupies today, both as a competitor and as a ," says Ferreira, "so I am familiar with the company's solutions and offerings."

He intends to grow the business and take it "to the next level of competitiveness. Unisys Africa has the potential to add significantly to its recent performances, and I have little doubt that given our strategic advantages, we will grow the business ahead of the market."

Unisys Africa provides enterprise server consolidation, real-time infrastructure, managed services and cheque processing.
