Communications deputy minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams has reported minister Faith Muthambi to President Jacob Zuma for sidelining her and treating her "like a personal assistant (PA)", according to the Sunday Times.

Ndabeni-Abrahams confirmed to the Sunday newspaper that she and Muthambi had "no working relationship".

"The only thing I can do if we don't have a relationship is to talk to the appointing authority. Yes, I did write to the appointing authority, I have just written today [Friday].

"Ever since we were appointed, we've never had a relationship. She says she felt like she had too much energy, that she can do everything by herself... I assume that's how she felt," states the newspaper.

According to the Sunday Times, the deputy minister said she repeatedly tried to reach out to Muthambi, but the minister continued to sideline her by not involving her in department programmes.

"She just believes that she's equivalent to the appointing authority, [that] she's the president... She's forgotten that the president appointed me as well. I am not a PA," quotes the newspaper.
