Fibreplus appointed as ATTAC distributor

Johannesburg, 20 Aug 2000

End-to-end cabling solutions provider Fibreplus has announced its intention to aggressively target the entry-level structured cabling market following its appointment as a distributor of the ATTAC product range.

Fibreplus director, Dave Fawcett, says that the ATTAC product range, which is imported into SA by Surrey Distributors, is a portfolio of Category 5 cabling and component products that combined present entry-level and mid-market users with a complete structured cabling solution.

The ATTAC range includes a comprehensive range of surface mount boxes, flush outlets, patch panels, enhanced cable, and cable accessories, all of which have been designed to work together.

"This is a first for the lower end of the market, where distributors, resellers and users previously had to stitch together components and cabling from a number of manufacturers to put together a cost-effective cabling solution. This fragmented approach also meant that users did not get the benefit of the warranties that usually accompany the more expensive structured cabling product ranges," says Fawcett.

He points out that the ATTAC product range comes bundled with a range of value-added services that were previously only available to companies that could afford high-end structured cabling systems.

"When purchased and installed by a certified ATTAC cabling partner, the structured cabling system includes a 15 year warranty that encompasses all ATTAC cabling and connecting components, as well as thorough testing of structured cabling components at each point in the ," says Fawcett.

"We believe that these services will ensure that the ATTAC product ranges takes a very strong position in the entry-level market."
