Fibreplus, a supplier of fibre optic cables and accessories, has announced the release of R&M`s new cabling generation, the R&M freenet SOHO solution.
R&M (Reichle & De-Massari AG) based in Zurich-Wetzikon, Switzerland, is an international telecommunications company producing market connecting hardware and complementary accessories for WAN and LAN environments.
The R&M freenet SOHO solution is a pocket-sized, open office cabling system specially tailored to the needs of professional home users and to the new requirements of SMMEs.
"However, it can also be used for flexible generic cabling system extensions," says Len Ray, technical director at Fibreplus. "The R&M freenet communication solution is an all-in-one combination of design and functionality with a remarkable degree of flexibility.
"It will appeal to and tap a future-oriented growth market with a vast customer potential."
Ray says so far cabling systems have been relatively rigid in terms of design and that today they must address new requirements.
"There is a demand for open office cabling systems which not only fulfil the expectations of the quickly growing SMME market but can also be cost-effectively and flexibly deployed for open office cabling applications in large corporations at the tertiary cabling level.
"Great emphasis is placed on the ability to quickly and conveniently connect new users as well as temporary workgroups to existing networks. Many start-up companies expand briskly, and so do their networks.
"New applications and services call for flexible, high-performance cabling concepts," Ray adds.
