Local fibre optic cable distributor, Fibreplus, is to distribute the range of cable testing, network analysing and certification equipment from Fluke Networks.
Fluke Networks is represented in SA by BitRate.
Fibreplus will offer its dealers, resellers and cable installers a broad spectrum of offerings, ranging from basic and ruggedised cable testing products to copper and fibre certification tools.
Hermann Sidler, new business development manager at Fibreplus, says the company will also offer Fluke equipment to installers on a rental basis.
In line with its agreement with BitRate, Fibreplus will offer Fluke users and resellers technical training programmes and on-going after-sales support.
"We also plan to provide a steady flow of information to our partners and users on the Fluke product set, as well as details of new trends and developments in the copper and fibre cabling industry - from both a test and certification perspective as well as a standards watch, with an emphasis on Category 6 solutions."
Marius de Bruin, a director of BitRate, says Fibreplus was selected as a Fluke partner at sub-distributor level, because of its history and expertise in the cabling industry as well as its knowledge of both the copper and fibre optic cable markets in SA.
"We believe that Fibreplus will add substantially to our marketing effort and broaden our footprint in SA and beyond our borders to encompass sub-Saharan Africa," he adds.
