FIFA World Cup update - week two

As we are at the halfway point of the world`s largest sporting event, here are some key statistics regarding the first two weeks of the FIFA World Cup.

* The cumulative audience for the first 20 matches is just under 1.26 billion individuals.
* The most popular match in terms of TV ratings is Brazil v Croatia 12.0 (match was broadcast in 36 markets).
* Germany v Poland attained an average TVR of 11.1 (from 25 markets).
* Sweden v Paraguay had an average TVR of 10.1 (from 18 markets).

Statistics on the converged communications network for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany:

Total number of voice and data bytes, transferred over the network since 1 June: 8.9 terabytes (or almost 9 trillion bytes).

Average amount of traffic going over the Avaya network each day during the FIFA World Cup: 250 000 gigabytes

Total number of network connects (ie number of people who have connected to the Avaya network): 519 385

Average number of network connects each day: Approximately 13 000

Total number of phone calls made on World Cup network: 261 487

Total number of minutes of calls: 563 780
