E-landlord.co.za is a new Web site touted as a comprehensive database for landlords/agents (private and institutional) to advertise their current letting vacancies (residential, commercial or industrial) on the Internet.
Designed by property broker Graham Alexander, the service is free to consumers; advertisers pay a fee described as "a fraction of the costs normally charged for printed advertisements".
Landlords, property managers and agents will have to pay a small fee to advertise their premises. Depending on the payment package chosen, the subscription costs start at 47c per entry per day and can be paid by debit order, credit card (security provided by Verisign) or prepayment.
Landlords can edit, delete and replace listings at any time, while consumers can make direct contact with the advertisers.
Each subscriber submits their own user-name and password after payment is arranged and inserts their own properties. 0ne of the key features of the site is that subscribers can edit and substitute their listings at any time during the 30-day cycle to update the information.
One value-added service is the free monthly newsletter, which will discuss all aspects of leasing for the benefit of both landlords and tenants. These newsletters will be archived for future use. Reference material on hand includes standard lease contracts and a glossary of related terms.
