Fire-away e-mails and SMSes in a flash

Johannesburg, 27 Aug 2008

A new e-mail marketing suite enables companies, organisations and individuals to seamlessly and effortlessly manage their online e-mail marketing distribution such as newsletters or promotions.

MailFire, a product launched by leading Internet service provider (ISP), Web Africa, includes a powerful newsletter editor, advanced scheduling, ready-to-use templates and comprehensive reporting.

Newsletter editor

The newsletter editor has a familiar interface and enables the user to type in text or HTML, choose pictures he/she would like embedded, select attachments for the newsletter, and much more. The embedded images ensure your mails look right when they reach the inbox. Templates are available and can be easily customised to include branding and specific headers and footers.

Mailing list, database management

MailFire makes it possible to build a database from scratch, or import custom data from Microsoft Excel, CSV or XML files. Custom fields enable companies to personalise messages to each subscriber.

The product also offers mailing list management functionality to enable easy access and self-management of databases and mailing groups. MailFire includes simple opt-in processes or unsubscribe tools, which are automatically appended to each e-mail.

Scheduling tools

MailFire's scheduling tools make it possible to stagger newsletter-distribution over a few minutes, hours or days to ensure a company's call centre can cope with queries or orders.

Scheduling also enables organisations to track the progress of bulk runs as they happen, live and in real-time. Distribution can be paused, altered and resumed on the fly.

Statistics and reporting

MailFire's reporting functionality offers detailed reports on bulk runs, including reports on the number of mails that were successfully delivered, how many are pending and how many deliveries failed.

The solution automatically records when and how many times newsletters are viewed. It tracks how many newsletter recipients 'clicked through' to Web links and how many people unsubscribed from newsletters.

MailFire is a fully scalable solution. For individuals and small companies, costs begin at R69 per month for 2 000 e-mails. Web Africa's Platinum package, geared towards corporate clients, includes system integrators, account managers and 500 000 e-mails with unlimited mailing lists, for R4 929.

Anti-spam and opt-in only

In accordance with local and international compliance, MailFire is strictly opt-in only. To ensure it is kept spam free, each recipient must have provided verifiably granted intentional permission to receive mailings.
