A new black empowerment company, KKM Technologies (KKMT), has been formed through a joint venture by Kopano ke Matla Investment Company and Accara Solutions, a local financial solutions provider.
KKMT provides business process automation (BPA) solutions to the public sector.
The new company offers software and business applications to central and local government, and state-run industries.
KKMT`s main offering is rEward, an Accara-developed business process tool used to provide solutions in revenue and credit management, HR management and application processing.
Accara customers Union Finance, Tiscali and the Development Bank of Ethiopia already use the product.
"With Kopano`s expertise in project management, together with Accara`s IT know-how, a compelling solution is available for use in the public sector," says Tony Braniff, CEO of Accara Solutions.
"This solution allows enterprises and government agencies to quickly capture, extract, verify, process and index large quantities of information into secure, business processes," says Collin Majila, CEO of Kopano. "KKMT complements Kopano`s existing service offering in the software solutions space."
Braniff hopes Accara will be among the top 10 IT companies in the country within three to five years, through a combined strategy of local growth and international expansion.
"We have the resources and experience to do this, and have been exceedingly effective in Africa and the Caribbean with a view to extend this success in Europe and in the US," he says. "We intend to roll-out and mature our partner programme beyond our shores with strategic partnerships in key target markets."
