NSS has again broken ground in South Africa, graduating the first recipients of the EXIN - ISO 20000 Foundation certifications in Africa. Candidates completed a course and exam session hosted at the company's Rivonia offices on 17-18 March 2008.
Keith Reynolds, Training and Consulting Manager at NSS said the certification programme focuses on introducing candidates to the fundamentals of the internationally recognized standard for Service Management.
He said there was a growing demand for ISO 20000 skills in South Africa. Traditionally the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) has provided certification for people involved in Service Management. ISO 20000, he explained, now provides for the organisation to prove they comply with an internal standard for quality Service Management as well.
In order to assist organisations understand and apply the ISO 20000 standard, NSS will continue to work closely with the internationally recognised exam body, EXIN.
Reynolds stated, "NSS will ensure it stays at the forefront in bringing ISO 20000 to the African Market so that its clients can continually move towards delivering better quality services to customers."
The ISO 20000 Foundation course is the first in a series of programmes aimed at raising awareness as well as certifying Consultants and Auditors in the ISO/IEC 20000 Standard.
The next module to be made available will be the Professional Level certificate, "Management and Improvement of IT Services", which will be presented in May this year.
