Intel`s Desktop Board D875PBZ, now available from local distributor Rectron, harnesses the computing power of the latest Intel Pentium 4 processors while supporting Hyper-Threading technology.
The D875PBZ also known as "Bonanza" is the first Intel offering based on the company`s 875P chipset to hit the South African IT market.
One of the key features of the new motherboard is its support for Hyper-Threading that includes 800MHz FSB processors as well as full support for DDR RAM of up 400MHz.
"With the 'Bonanza`, Intel is bringing new levels of computing performance to the South African desktop marketplace," says Douglas Downing, Intel business manager: servers, desktops and networking at Rectron.
"For example, the motherboard`s combined support for Intel RAID technology and two native Serial ATA 150 ports accelerate performance by reducing memory latencies."
Importantly, the "Bonanza" features an integrated Intel PRO/100 CT Desktop Connection LAN that utilises onboard Ethernet LAN connectivity by using the Communication Streaming Architecture (CSA) interface.
The D875PBZ also features Intel`s Precision Cooling Technology that offers temperature-based fan control which reduces unnecessary noise and energy consumption.
Concludes Downing: "All these new and exciting features provide excellent system efficiency and raw speed for even the most demanding software applications."
