First Technology, one of SA`s largest independent value-added IT resellers, has undergone a major transformation exercise over the past few months to enable the group to unlock the potential inherent in its skills base around the country.
"Our goal was to change the group from a collection of regional businesses into a company with a coherent identity and consistent value proposition," explains marketing and sales director, Hilton Cock.
"We also recognised that significant changes were taking place in our market sector and that, with thoughtful restructuring, we would be in an unmatched position to provide our customers with solutions and services which maximise business productivity, reduce the risk associated with deploying technologies and minimise the total cost of IT ownership."
Most of the group`s regional operations have either established, or are in the process of establishing, four focused divisions:
* Solutions: This division has a team of highly skilled technical consultants who partner with clients, ensuring that technology and business objectives are met, in world-class IT infrastructure solutions.
* Software: A highly specialised division which provides customers with consulting, licensing advice and services; as well as software asset tracking, auditing, operating systems and messaging. It also designs, develops and implements Internet-based business solutions such as Web page publishing and e-procurement.
* Services: First Technology maintains one of the largest teams of highly skilled technical personnel in the country. These hardware and software skills are available to customers via the group`s national helpdesk or through a host of customised options.
* Consumables: The group supplies the largest selection of branded and home branded quality consumables in the country - from toner cartridges and inks to CDs, DVDs, tapes and all other electronic media.
"This new structure will give all our customers access to a consistent range and quality of First Technology services and solutions around the country.
"We are confident that these changes will not only improve our internal efficiencies, but will ensure we meet - and indeed exceed - our customers` expectations of First Technology as one of SA`s leading IT solutions providers," Cock concludes.
First Technology is one of SA`s largest independent IT solutions providers, offering customers solutions and services that maximise business productivity, reduce the risk associated with deploying new technologies and minimise the total cost of IT ownership. The company has fully-fledged branches in every major business node across SA and maintains one of the largest teams of highly skilled technical personnel in the country.
