HP South Africa hosted its annual channel awards at the Theatre on the Track in Kyalami on 23 June 2005.
The channel awards acknowledge HP`s partners and the contribution they have made to the company over the past year, recognising the business partners who are categorised and listed in accordance with HP`s business model. First Technology, a leading corporate and enterprise reseller, walked away victoriously with four awards.
The first award received by First Technology was "Corporate and Enterprise Reseller Best Growth in PNB". First Technology achieved 130% growth in the ProCurve Networking Business, thus raising the bar infinitely higher.
First Technology also increased growth in industry-standard servers (ISS) by a further 102%. This earned the company its second award for the evening, "Corporate and Enterprise Reseller Best Growth in ISS, Best Reseller".
As far as technical expertise is concerned, First Technology came out on top, with Marco Vieira winning "Outstanding Product Manager for SSP (Solutions Sales Partner).
An ecstatic Vieira said: "I am completely flattered at receiving this award as I don`t feel that I am any better than any of the other HP product managers that are out there. I would like to thank my two colleagues, Chris Larkins and Phillip De Waal, as we are a team and this award is as much mine as it is theirs. It is, however, a great feeling to be recognised in this way. First Technology have come a long way and it is great that HP South Africa acknowledges that we deserve these awards."
First Technology`s winning streak did not end there. The company also received an award in the category of "Best Corporate and Enterprise Reseller Overall" rounding off a very good evening.
The channel awards were on the whole a great success for First Technology, and proved that as a reseller in the corporate and enterprise segments, First Technology is a top contender and a lucrative business partner for any corporation.
