Five stars for bizhub PRESS C8000

Johannesburg, 24 Mar 2011

Konica Minolta has received the BERTL “Exceptional certified five star” award for its production printing flagship, the bizhub PRESS C8000. This honour is only bestowed on out-of-the-ordinary products.

Among other features, the renowned independent test laboratory especially highlighted the device's colour and print quality, as well as its productivity, comprehensive media handling and user friendliness.

“This is a real accolade for Konica Minolta's work,” comments Leon Minnie, production systems product manager for Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa. “When Konica Minolta designed the bizhub PRESS C8000, it wanted to unite all of its experience in one production printing system. For us, the BERTL 'Excellent certified five star' award means that the company has obviously succeeded.”

During the test, the bizhub PRESS C8000 reached five-star ratings in seven out of 13 categories such as finishing, media handling, printing, image quality and features. BERTL also mentioned the device's security and workflow capabilities as well as its ease of use and configuration options with three different image controllers.

The 60-page test report concludes that “the bizhub PRESS C8000 delivers market-leading innovation in the areas of productivity, reliability and workflow enhancement, and raises the bar in the production print industry.”

The Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000 processes media up to 350gsm at a speed of 80ppm in both colour and monochrome. It has a maximum monthly volume of 500 000 pages. “The production printing system meets all demands of commercial offset and professional digital print environments,” says Minnie.
