More than 50% of network professionals lack the tools to quickly and accurately identify network performance issues, according to research by Fluke Networks. Similarly, research by Gartner suggests IT professionals are increasingly calling for better visibility into network performance and diagnosis of network problems.
Fluke Networks' latest offering, Visual TruView, combines network and application performance management into a single unit, speeding up problem resolution, the company says.
"Traditionally, IT organisations are very siloed. There's a network team, there's an application team, there's a servers team, there's a security team, a Windows team, and on, and on, and on," Daryle DeBalski, VP and GM of Fluke Networks' Visual business unit, told Network World, adding that most problems become the responsibility of the "network guy".
Fluke Networks describes Visual TruView as a tool that "watches over global, regional or even local groups of sites and users 24/7 by monitoring end-user experience enterprise-wide, and then visually depicting when and where problems occur".
According to Fluke Networks, Visual TruView separates disciplines of network and application performance monitoring, element managers and Stream to Disc (S2D) with up to 10G performance. This reduces the amount of time engineers spend performing "swivel chair "correlations across multiple toolsets. The solution boasts more than twice the analytical processing power of its competitors' and ensures the integrated functions operate without degrading performance, says the brand.
"TruView was built from the ground up to provide this visibility," says DeBalski. "We've reinvented the way engineers can see and manage issues with today's complex networks so they can move to immediate resolution. TruView changes the game on speed and collaboration for our customers."
Featuring a correlated dashboard, TruView offers automatic configuration and identification of networks and applications, taking about 15 minutes to set up. According to a Fluke Networks Whitepaper, customers who have used the TruView tool have shifted their IT operations away from a reactionary support model and have reported a reduction in their mean time to repair (MTTR) by as much as 82%.
"TruView represents the next generation in automation for IT operations. One appliance, one correlated set of data, one source of the truth," the brand concludes.
