Supply chain management company Bowline has entered the virtual world of e-business. The company has selected Flux Interactive to help launch its on-line service to the IT, music and publishing industries.
This latest development enables Bowline to offer its clients another channel through which to distribute goods to end-users.
Flux Interactive designed Bowline`s site from scratch after one client specifically requested that they offer the service of on-line shopping for their products. Bowline identified this as a complementary extension to the current service offering for all clients.
Bowline`s services include Microsoft Authorised Replication, warehousing, assembly component assessment and procurement, CD-ROM replication, product customisation, inventory risk management, security, order processing and fulfilment, manage7ment of receivables, sales and complex distribution.
"Flux Interactive supplies an ASP solution, hosting the site and providing the infrastructure to facilitate all transactions," explains Hendrik Minnie, MD at Flux Interactive.
"Bowline maintains the content of the site - which can be updated via the Web browser from its Johannesburg or Cape Town locations - and handles the transactions."
