Accessing voter registration information is no longer limited to those who have access to the or cellular telephones. Anyone can get the information from First National (FNB) ATMs without being a bank cardholder or an FNB .

FNB, in conjunction with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), is making voter registration information available on FNB ATMs throughout the country, free of charge.

"By entering their identity number onto any FNB ATM, the voters will be able to access their voter registration information, which will be displayed on the ATM screen," says Mike Arnold, FNB CEO Self Service Channels.

"Users will simply have to follow the prompts on the ATM screen and will be required to enter an ID number," explains Arnold. "As a Proudly South African financial institution, FNB believes it is our responsibility to assist voters to access this information as easily as possible."

Internet users can access the information through the Independent Electoral Commission`s Web site by clicking on the Where am I registered to vote? link and entering an ID number.

Alternatively, Vodacom and MTN subscribers can access the information via cellphone by sending an ID number by SMS to 32810. The number for Cell C subscribers is 084 8437 060.
