In yet another move by South African to improve , First National Bank (FNB) has invested in a log management system for the Base24 Point of Sale (POS) transaction environment used by the bank`s Automatic Teller Machines.

FNB`s Merchant Acquiring IT head Annelie Pretorius says the Prognosis Base24 Point of Sale (POS) Log Manager provides an efficient way for the bank to track transactions in real-time. "The solution, developed by global systems management software developer Integrated Research (IR), enables FNB to understand when and why transactions fail".

Pretorius says the system enables the bank to track transactions in real-time instead of consolidating transactions only at the end of the month. "The improved customer service is derived from the ability to identify the root cause of problems and rectify them before customers are affected".
