FORE Systems has unveiled a series of turnkey networking solutions delivering unmatched support for advanced e-commerce infrastructures. FORE`s E-commerce networking solutions will enable enterprise customers and Application Service Providers (ASPs) to securely and reliably optimise networks for Internet, extranet and client-server applications.
The new solutions from FORE include a series of software agents that leverage FORE`s unique Application Aware switching architecture to provide unmatched performance and security for critical e-commerce network traffic. In addition, FORE is unveiling advanced server backup and mirroring solutions that provide unparalleled performance for synchronisation of e-commerce servers. These innovations will help IT managers optimise client-server architectures within their network, maximising enterprise network performance and security, especially as network traffic grows. As a result, enterprises will be able to simply and efficiently deploy today`s most advanced e-commerce solutions, leveraging extranet and web
deployments to communicate with customers, suppliers, business partners and employees.
"E-commerce doesn`t stop at the web server. The most advanced deployments of e-commerce solutions depend on the infrastructure within the enterprise as well," said Dave Kosiur, analyst with The Burton Group. "A network infrastructure that guarantees stability and top performance is key. FORE is launching e-commerce networking products that aim to address this need through enhanced performance and security for the most advanced and demanding e-commerce deployments."
"These enhancements bring together the emerging world of e-commerce solutions with two values upon which FORE Systems has built an industry-leading reputation - performance and security," said Milton Thorne, director of operations at FORE Systems southern Africa. "Continuing our best-of-breed Application Aware strategy, these agents provide a solid network foundation for deploying the most advanced and innovative e-commerce solutions."
To ensure top performance and security for emerging e-commerce applications, FORE announced the following networking solutions:
. PrioriSynch Solutions - innovative solutions which enable the network manager to prioritize and guarantee network traffic that synchronises and backs up mirrored databases. This ensures maximum performance and reliability of e-commerce applications that depend on uninterrupted transport of critical database information.
. NetResource Guard - empowers the network manager to set policies to maximise handling of the most critical traffic in an e-commerce deployment. It includes a network management policy console providing a graphical user interface (GUI) to dramatically simplify policy management and to automatically adjust priorities for different traffic types of traffic (e.g. HTTP, e-mail).
. AuthentiFirst Agent - a switch-resident application agent which supports critical e-commerce functions by optimising network security traffic and removing network bottlenecks, ensuring reliable and scalable network security services. Later releases will work with dynamic network addressing schemes to ensure security within authentication frameworks, such as Public Key Infrastructure.
