The introduction of ITIL Version three brought with it a wave of uncertainty in the South African IT Industry specifically amongst service management professionals. Many people viewed the upgrade as a major change to the underlying concepts of ITIL whereas the reality is in fact that it is a logical consolidation of the Library, integrating the various concepts of Version two into a logical lifecycle approach.
The ITIL V3 Foundation bridging course, a one-day fast-track approach to converting a V2 Foundation qualification to the more relevant V3, addresses the intricate concepts and more mature theories of ITIL Version three
Foster-Melliar has noticed that due to the additional information being covered in the courses, the perception of many of their customers is that more time is required to understand the differences between version two and version three to achieve the value that they require. Bearing this in mind, they have re-evaluated the timing requirements of the V2 - V3 Bridging Course.
In order to ensure customers get the best return on this course, Foster-Melliar will be offering this as a two-day course allowing their trainers to workshop ideas and give learners the opportunity to understand the relevance of the revision in a workplace application.
"Our customers are accustomed to receiving outstanding training and it is important to the entire Foster-Melliar team that our dedication and passion is reflected in the learners' results and their ability to enjoy what we are teaching. There is more involved in this transition than getting as many people as possible to convert to ITIL V3 because at the end of the day, if they have not benefited from the course, the service Management industry will suffer in the long-term," says Simon Turner, executive director at Foster-Melliar
"We have priced the two day course (including the exam) very competitively. We genuinely hope that the industry receives the best out of Version three as it is a worthwhile, well executed, holistic approach to ITIL which has a real impact on business," adds Simon
The syllabus has been bedded down, and the exams finalised. Foster-Melliar's trainers are fully equipped to deliver V3 courses, which have been accredited with both EXIN and ISEB. Foster-Melliar is committed to assisting their customers in their transformation to ITIL V3.
Foster-Melliar continues to provide value to their customers whilst upholding their quality and integrity, which has made them leaders in the industry.
