Foster`s Group Limited, the global premium-branded beverage company delivering beer, wine spirits and cider, has licensed Agilisys`s Advanced Scheduling for use in five of its Australian operations.
Foster`s will initially deploy Advanced Scheduling in Carlton & United Breweries to cover scheduling requirements in packaging, and has options to roll it out to filtration and brewing, as well as other sites in the group. Foster`s is the first Agilisys client in Australia, acquired through a joint effort with Australia and New Zealand-based partner Infinity Solutions.
Infinity will also execute the implementation with a Foster`s team.
Advanced Scheduling allocates and sequences all production activities in order to generate an optimal production schedule. Foster`s will have the ability to generate a real-time update to the packaging schedule, which will enable its raw materials suppliers to be provided with an accurate schedule in order to supply the packaging materials. Advanced Scheduling will also help Foster`s to improve internal planning processes and the information sharing between ERP and MES (manufacturing execution systems).
"We were looking for a long-term solution for production scheduling that can help us obtain our ambitious productivity and efficiency goals, and can develop with us to support our business needs," says Craig Smith, operations systems capability manager of Carlton & United Breweries. "We selected Agilisys based on the company`s application functionality and broad experience in the beverage industry."
"Agilisys will assist Foster`s to improve its day-to-day operations by providing a powerful, highly flexible solution that can be adapted easily to changing business environments," comments Karl Frenz, Agilisys business manager at local distributor ApplyIT. "As a world leader in the provision of software and services, to the beverage market, Agilisys expects to make a major contribution to the group`s manufacturing efficiencies and productivity."
