Rod Francis has been appointed Financial Director at Softline VIP. Managing Director of Softline VIP, Anton van Heerden, says this puts Francis at the head of the finance, accounting and reporting functions of VIP Payroll.
This role involves providing structures and processes that allow for good governance in line with corporate requirements, and maintaining efficient business principles that enable agility and allow for effective decision-making.
In addition, he will provide an internal support to all divisional managers to assist with various aspects of strategy, planning, budgeting, profitability analysis, scenario planning, and business plans.
"As VIP has a number of different operating businesses, my immediate challenge involves understanding the intricacies of each of these and providing effective support to the relevant manager to enable maximum growth and profitability," Francis says. "A second challenge is to identify the factors that have contributed to our success in the past and to reinforce these wherever possible."
