Domain registration and Web site hosting specialist Blue Sky Internet Online has made available a free DigitalHost.co.za fax2email facility to enhance its expanding line-up of value-add client services.
In a bid to help clients reduce costs, increase profits and improve efficiency, Blue Sky Internet Online has taken the initiative to provide companies with the technology and resources to offer each employee a personal fax-to-e-mail service with a free fax number.
"Convergence in the ICT industry has now become a common thing and the integration of telecommunications and networking technologies is driving this process forward. Integrating your PDA into your cellphone and accessing e-mail from your handheld device have now become practical, everyday tasks," comments Amir Sachs, Director at Blue Sky Internet Online.
The technology involved enables faxes to be converted into e-mail format and sent directly to an employee`s e-mail account.
"Why wait till you get to the office to check faxes? This service allows businesses to get additional functionality from PCs because additional peripheral devices like fax machines and other multifunctional product can be eliminated," asks Sachs.
A company`s internal mail server (which DigitalHost.co.za can install from R1 800) can be configured to automatically send fax2email to the recipient as well as a central collection point, for archiving purposes or duplication.
DigitalHost.co.za hosts Web sites for businesses in SA and the US. Gerald Radowsky, IT manager for the fashion retailer giant Queenspark, says: "We have been using DigitalHost for Web hosting our online catalogue for the last two years, and are extremely impressed with their service levels and professionalism."
DigitalHost also provides spam free mail services. All e-mail accounts hosted on DigitalHost Web servers are automatically filtered for spam and viruses at no extra charge.
