Freshwater Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercury Interactive Corporation the leading provider of enterprise testing and application performance management solutions, today announced the immediate availability of SiteScope 7.
This new version adds support for BEA`s WebLogic, IBM`s WebSphere application servers, along with 16 other new monitors and incorporates new functionality that speeds implementation by allowing IT managers to quickly tailor SiteScope to monitor complex multi-platform network architectures.
"The Amarillo fire department is a 24-hour-a-day operation," said Rick Redman, Special Projects Manager for the City of Amarillo. "And SiteScope is significant to this operation especially because eight to five staff members are supporting it. SiteScope lets us know of problems before the end-users are aware of them and helps us keep the 911 emergency system and dispatch system running at all times."
SiteScope streamlines the management of entire Web systems into a single system. IT managers now have the ability to select from all the 60 different monitor types, allowing them to customise how the monitors are displayed and establishing criteria for how and when alerts are issued. Also included are customisable reporting features.
"Our customers are managing increasingly complex network architectures and are under constant pressure to keep all systems running at maximum performance," said Larry Wear, general manager of Freshwater. "Our newest release addresses their need to automatically tailor SiteScope`s monitoring and alert systems to work even more seamlessly across multi-platform networks."
SiteScope 7 also includes customisable templates that automate the configuration process, allowing operations staff to begin monitoring application server performance within minutes of deploying the system. The new templates work with all popular industry-standard Web and application servers, and allow managers to monitor critical performance specifications unique to each platform.
Along with IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic, SiteScope 7 includes support for Oracle9i Application Server, Microsoft SQL Server, ATG Dynamo Server, BroadVision Cisco Works servers, F5 Big-IP load balancers and generic DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), Check Point OPSEC, DB2, Sybase, SAP, EJBs, MAPI (Exchange), and BEA TUXEDO.
SiteScope is a robust, downloadable and easily deployed solution for monitoring the performance of global Web infrastructures. It continuously monitors the availability of Web infrastructures, including server resources, page download times and the availability of network services, and sends alerts when problems are detected.
