JSE-listed FrontRange`s wholly owned US subsidiary has opened an office in Shanghai, China, with plans to establish a Beijing office in the first half of next year.
FrontRange Solutions USA has also made senior sales and partner appointments as part of its expansion strategy for the country.
The Chinese operation will be managed by former customer service call centre industry executive Frank Zhou, although product localisation for the Chinese market will be handled out of Australia, where the company has its Asia Pacific headquarters and regional call centre and infrastructure support centre in Sydney.
Michael McCloskey, CEO of FrontRange Solutions USA, says the company will target both the government and corporate sector with particular emphasis on organisations that have large workflow requirements.
Those sectors include the nationalised energy, resource and utility sectors as well as healthcare and financial services.
Three value-added reseller partners have also been appointed, with NCS China and SCS China reselling FrontRange`s products in Shanghai and southern China and AcroChina doing the same in Beijing and northern China.
The International Data Corporation estimates that IT spending in China will approach $25 billion this year, 3.5% up from last year.
