Based on its recent study, Strategic Analysis of the Enhanced Carrier Messaging Platforms Market, Frost & Sullivan has awarded Comverse Technology, with the 2004 Market Leadership Award.
This annual award is bestowed upon the company that has demonstrated excellence in its industry by spearheading cutting-edge products and concepts. The company should also be well equipped to increase its market share through consumer-friendly, marketable solutions that are clearly ahead of similar offerings from competitors, says the report.
"Comverse has been able to leverage its solid track record in the voice mail industry to the next generation messaging space," says Frost & Sullivan senior strategic analyst Ronald Gruia. "It has managed to capture the mind share of operators worldwide in terms of innovation, a gradual migration path towards IP, a wide portfolio of value added services and solid market share."
With almost 44% of the market share in the overall ESP (Enhanced Service Platform) market, the company has asserted itself as a leader in the next-gen carrier voice messaging space, the Frost & Sullivan report adds.
"Furthermore, the timely introduction of Comverse`s new InSight product and the flexibility of that platform will be instrumental in enabling the company to capture a sizeable share of the messaging business, particularly once carriers begin to upgrade their legacy voice mail infrastructure with newer IP-based equipment.
"There have also been signs that Comverse has been increasingly capitalising on the instant, short and multimedia message service (IM/SMS/MMS) side of the market. This is important since the segment represents another migration path toward a full-blown unified total communications solution.
"The company has also deployed its ImPact Service Suites that can deliver a quick ROI to operators by increasing the call completion rate."
"Comverse is certainly well positioned to capture additional tenders in the future," observes Gruia. "It has consistently invested substantial resources in its R&D programs geared towards delivering complete, end-to-end solutions as part of a comprehensive total communication portfolio."
