FSA Distribution (Pty) Ltd has announced that with immediate effect, they will be dealing directly with Samsung in Korea and bringing in Samsung product directly from Korea.
This announcement follows Samsung South Africa`s announcement that they will not be continuing with their hard drive distribution operation, but have handed these rights over to FSA.
James Darroch, Managing Director of FSA says, "For us this is great news as we will be able to bring in the hard drives at a better price than before and that benefit will be passed on to our dealers."
Darroch says FSA is confidently expecting the Samsung hard drive sales in South Africa to double as price performance will make them an extremely competitive product.
Darroch says, "In this market one has to be very responsive to market demand and under this arrangement, we are better able to do this. Because it is a commodity item, the less links there are in the supply chain, the better."
Darroch will be going to Korea within the next month to tie up various aspects of the distribution agreement and is confidently predicting better response times and faster distribution after Samsung Korea announced massive investments in streamlining the hard drive division.
"The price benefits will become available to our dealers immediately and we look forward to developing this product in conjunction with our dealer channel, says Darroch.
